It began in 1964 when Tony Borg made and laid 65,000 bricks to build the shop that brought pastizzi to the growing Maltese community in Melbourne’s west.
Word spread quickly, and Maltese far and wide flocked to taste the golden flaky delight which brought back so many hearty memories of home. Soon they were catering for dinner dances, conferences – and the global market.
Now, more than 51 years later, pastizzi is still an integral part of the Borg family. Tony and his son, Darren Borg are going back to basics and keeping it local with traditional handmade pastizzi.
There’s no other way to keep the authenticity, flavour and freshness of a pastizzi you’d get made from Nannu and Nanna’s own hands.
There’s simply no comparison between machine-made and handmade pastizzi.
Mediterranean handmade pastizzi are flakier, tastier – and generously loaded with flavourful fillings. Choose from favourites such as ricotta & spinach pastizzi, pea pastizzi, and ricotta pastizzi. And finish off by satisfying your sweet tooth with apple pastizzi.
Whatever you choose, we guarantee you’ll be going back for seconds!
“With the commitment to quality we strive to share all the flavours of the Mediterranean.”
